"The privilege of a life time is being who you are." - Joseph Campbell

Experienced and qualified therapist for children and teens.

Creative Therapy for Children & Teens

Looking for a therapist for your child can be a daunting task. You may not be sure whether your child needs extra help, you may not be sure whether your child will agree to attend. It can be hard to say out loud that your child is suffering, and hard to know who is the right therapist for your child. I offer a service that aims to make this whole process easier. I have a welcoming and sensitve approach, and offer a free 30 minute phone consultation during which I both listen to you and your situation and introduce my way of working.

Empowerment & Resilience

It is often our relationship to our emotions rather than the emotions themselves that cause us suffering. The aim of the work will be to give your child the tools and understanding to listen to and steadily face their emotions. This ability leads to a deep sense of empowerment.

Self-Acceptance

Confidence and happiness can often be eroded by a negative relationship with oneself. By becoming aware of and then

externalising their judgemental self-talk through drawing, clay or role play, your child can learn how to identify and challenge their inner critic and become a good friend to themselves.

Celebrate Strengths

Time will be spent focusing on the individual strengths of your child. We will work together to expand and embed positive traits giving them the confidence and belief to meet life's challenges.

I am an experienced and qualified therapist working with children and families for the past 13 years. In addition to private work, I am contracted by schools and CAMHS to deliver individual and group work to children in primary and secondary school settings who are referred to me because they are struggling with:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Difficulties in regulating anger
  • Self-harm
  • Challenging Behaviour

Every child is different, some some are ready to engage, some are wary and reluctant. Some like to talk, some find words very difficult. I meet the child where they are and find a way of working and communicating that suits them, be it talking, game playing, goal setting, art / clay work, sand tray or role-play work.
